Announcement is being made of the engagement of Ashley Renee McCann and James Boyd Neal Jr., by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike McCann of Tonkawa. Neal is the son of James and Janice Neal of Chickasha. A June 7 wedding in the Christian Life Church in Tonkawa is planned.

Miss McCann, a graduate of Tonkawa High School, received an associate degree from Northern Oklahoma College. She graduated in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from East Central University. She teaches pre-kindergarten at Tonkawa Elementary School.

Neal, a graduate of Chickasha High School, attended the University of Central Oklahoma, Eastern Oklahoma State College and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from ECU. He is employed with Graham Land and Cattle Company.

Grandparents of the bride-to-be are Gladys Grimes, the late Roscoe Grimes, the late Kenneth and Marie McCann. Grandparents of the future bridegroom are Carmen Jones, the late Ray Lee Jones, the late John and Lula Neal.
