Toni Gibson Acquires Tonkawa Pharmacy |

Toni Gibson, owner of Toni's Westside Drug, 301 West Grand, has recently added the customer prescription files from the Hutton Pharmacy No. 2 at Tonkawa.
In addition to purchasing the files of the Pharmacy, Gibson has bought the remaining merchandise of Hutton Pharmacy.
Toni's Westside Drug is celebrating the 30th anniversary in the pharmacy business this year.
Toni's, which offers in-city delivery in Ponca City, is extending that service once a day to Tonkawa to the Hutton Pharmacy customers. The service to Tonkawa began Monday with phone-in prescriptions.
Harold Hutton, who owned Hutton Pharmacy, at 205 East Tonkawa, is retiring. The Hutton Pharmacy had been in operation since 1976.
Currently Toni's, which is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, has two pharmacists on staff and four technicians.
Gibson assume ownership of Sanders Westside Rexall drug store in June 1978. The drug store had been serving the west side of Ponca City since 1927, when it was established by George Humes.
Gibson, a native of Ponca City, is a graduate of Ponca City High School, and the Oklahoma University College of Pharmacy. Prior to purchasing the Westside drug store in 1978, she had worked as a pharmacist in Ponca City for Graves Drug and Northcutt Drug.
Gibson's roots run deep in Ponca City, as well as her interest in medicine. Her father was Dr. Bob Gibson, a well known doctor. Her grandfathers were T.J. Cuzalina, a pharmacist, and Dr. R.B. Gibson, a physician. Published Tue, May 6, 2008, On Page 2 A Copyright ©1998-2005 The Ponca City News |
