International Tourism Workshop Here April 15

Ponca City Tourism and Oklahoma Travel and Recreation is sponsoring an international workshop April 15 noon to 3 p.m., at the Standing Bear Museum education center.

Kansas and Oklahoma are successful partners of marketing in a two-state region to the feeder markets of German speaking Europe and the United Kingdom.

The consistent multi-year program has identified international travelers who are seeking "real America" off-the-beaten-path, USA destinations.

Operators of lodging establishments, restaurants, major attractions or a major annual event and are interested in learning how to easily encourage international bookings should make reservations to attend.

To register Please call the Ponca City Chamber at 580-765-4400 or email marybeth@poncacitychamber.com. It is a working lunch event and box lunches will be served at $8 per person. Space is limited.

This workshop will offer the opportunity to understand the international distribution process, why timing is everything, and how to negotiate FIT contracts with tour operators.

The workshop will be small and intimate — allowing for all questions to be asked and answered. Attending this workshop will allow participants the opportunity to increase the share of the international traveler revenue that is arriving in Oklahoma.
