Menus - Wheatheart Nutrition

Ponca City’s Wheatheart Nutrition Project is one of several Kay County locations providing hot lunches for area citizens age 60 and over. Located at Ponca City Senior Center, 319 West Grand, Wheatheart meals are served Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to noon.


A sack lunch meal is distributed by Wheatheart at Thursday’s meal. To receive a sack lunch each Thursday, participants must eat with Wheatheart on Thursdays. Friday meals are coordinated through the City of Ponca City and reservations must be made by calling 763-8051.


During May: Bring your school photo for the photo match display at the center.


Monday, May 21: Turkey tetrazzini, Scandinavian blend, French bread with margarine and mixed fruit with vanilla pudding for dessert. 12:15 p.m.: Prevention Plus bingo.


Tuesday, May 22: Two sausage patties with gravy, hash brown casserole, biscuit with margarine and double-orange gelatin for dessert. 12:30 p.m. In-house pool tournament.


Wednesday, May 23: Chili cheese potato, winter mix veggies and cinnamon roll for dessert. 2 p.m.: Deadline to make reservations for Friday’s lunch. Please call 763-8051. A $2 donation is suggested for Friday meals.


Thursday, May 24: Ham and beans, tomato relish, seasoned spinach with bacon, cornbread with margarine and choice of pudding for dessert. (Sack lunch of chicken salad, carrot raisin salad, orange half or orange juice, crackers and applesauce will be given to those eating a hot lunch at Wheatheart on Thursday.)


Friday, May 25: Arby’s sandwiches and desserts. 11 a.m.: Line dance performance.
