Reverend Leaving

Rev. James A. Riggs has announced that he is leaving St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1904 Pecan. In a letter mailed to church members, Riggs announced that he is going to Lamont UMC to serve as a full time Senior Pastor. Riggs is available until June 7.


Prince of

Peace Lutheran

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2800 Turner, will hold Good Friday Services at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday services will be at 11 a.m.


Friendship Feast Fundraiser

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Fifth Street and Cleveland, will host The Friendship Feast Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on April 21, 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages four-12. Ages three and under eat free. Carry out will be available. Proceeds support the ministry in purchasing food and utensils. The Friendship Feast is a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers from local churches and benevolent organizations in Ponca City.  The mission of the Friendship Feast is to provide meals to those in need in the community.  Meals are served from Monday to Thursday in the fellowship hall from 5:30-6:15 p.m.  Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased at the door on the evening of the meal.


Grace Episcopal

Good Friday Services are scheduled at Grace Episcopal Church, 109 North 13th Street, beginning at 6 p.m. The Corporate fast and prayer will be April 14 at 8 a.m. The Great Vigil of Easter will be April 15 at 6 p.m. and Easter Sunday service of resurrection will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.


Sunset Activities

Sunset Baptist Church, 915 Greenwood, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on April 15 at 1 p.m. On April 16 a fundraiser for the church will be held at Papa Murphy’s from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On April 27 a fundraiser for the church will be held at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburger from 5-7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Outreach.


St. Paul’s UMC

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1904 North Pecan, will hold Maundy Thursday Service on April 13 at 6 p.m. at Albright United Methodist Church, 128 South Palm. Good Friday Tenebrae Service will be at 7 p.m. in the north sanctuary. They will also host their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Cookout on Saturday April 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s.




Powerhouse of Faith Christian Center, 114 North Oak, will begin the Unification Christian Fellowship International Spring Revival on April 19 with Pastor Michael Cephus of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Fairfax speaking. On April 20 at 7 p.m. Dr. Edwin House of Lighthouse Ministry of Crescent will speak. On April 21, Bishop Clyde Cook of Set Free Ministries, Oklahoma City will speak. On April 22 the church will host a Barbecue event at Fifth Street Park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.


First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian Church, 1505 E. Grand Ave., will have an Easter Devotional at 9 a.m. and Easter Worship at 10 a.m. followed by fellowship and a children’s Easter egg hunt. There is a family worship area for young children and nursing mothers. All are welcome.


Asbury United


Asbury United Methodist Church will join five other churches around Ponca City for Thursday services at Albright’s at 6:30 p.m.

They will have an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. The event will include face painting, music, egg hunts and prizes and hot dogs, cookies and drinks at 700 West Liberty. Easter Sunrise service will be at 6:45 a.m. followed by breakfast at the church and regular Easter service at 10:45 a.m.
