Lifeguards Save Girl

Fast action by a trio of 18-year-old Ponca City lifeguards saved a two-year old toddler from drowning Friday at AMBUC Pool.

Ciara Farrow Reese, Tonkawa vocalist, will perform at 7 p.m. July 31 in Centennial Park, Sixth Street and Grand Avenue in Tonkawa, weather permitting. Sponsored by the Tonkawa Arts and Humanities Council, the event is free. Area residents are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets with their own snacks and drinks to enjoy an evening of music in the park. Reese began singing at an early age in various venues and competitions. When she was 15, she auditioned for American Idol and reached the Hollywood rounds.
